Panasonic SW-20 Stress Test: Sand Test SW20 POV

Panasonic was generous enough to provide us with a camera that we can really put to the test. The SDR-SW20 was one of their new lines of cameras that were launched in 2008, claiming it's shockproof, dustproof and waterproof. We've put it through these exact tests to see how far we can push this handheld: Test #1 - Sand Test #2 - Dropping Test #3 - Water All three test are 100% uncut, to prove to everyone there's no camera tricks involved. Putting this in the "entertainment" category is stretching things a bit, but there wasn't a "most boring videos ever" category!! When I heard a storm starting on Sunday I decided to go for a walk and test our new Panasonic SDR-SW20 waterproof camcorder.........for some reason no one wanted to come with me!...............the camera survived ok : -) Music - Rain by Patty Griffin

Panasonic SDR-SW20 waterproof tests
I tested it quite well with my walk in the thunderstorm http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ot6FHKbaYCk ......but thought I'd put it through a bit more : -/ There are 4 tests.......test 2 with the squirty thing goes on a bit (didn't want to trim it anymore cos then it wouldn't fit with the music!).....so just whizz past it to 1.42 if you get bored...........or just enjoy the song : -) The camera survived ok........when watching the footage I noticed a bit of a buzzing noise which I realised started just after throwing the glass of water at it!!.........the mike is at the front though and I suppose there was some water in the wrong place...........it was fine a bit later and has been since : -)
